SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

On February 2, German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke to a group of over 100 students from six Hungarian universities including Central European University, Andrassy University, and Corvinus University.

The European Parliament published an in-depth analysis on the roles of the European Council and the Council in contemporary EU governance by Professor Uwe Puetter. At a faculty research seminar on January 30, Assistant Professor Austin Choi-Fitzpatrick presented ongoing research on civil society uses for drones. As a social movements scholar, Choi-Fitzpatrick’s research centers around how drones can be used to promote corporate accountability, state accountability and conflict, human rights monitoring, and social movements and protests.

Our PhD student, Vija Pakalkaite has been awarded the CEU Award for Advanced Doctoral Students. The Award rewards outstanding student research and requires completion of a significant portion of research that serves as the basis of the dissertation and scholarly presentation of tangible results that directly stem from the research (a draft chapter, a paper); and a GPA of at least 3.5 or the highest placements in the department.
