	The application to continue the Erasmus Mundus Masters Program in Public Policy (coordinated by the DPP) was approved by the European Commission as one of 30 programs selected from 177 proposals for Erasmus Mundus. This second 5 year grant for Mundus MAPP will provide about 80 full and partial scholarships for the consortium universities over the next 5 years. The Erasmus Mundus programme is a flagship of the European Union, designed to attract top students to Europe from all over the world.


	Central European University (CEU) has named Wolfgang H. Reinicke Dean of the new CEU School of Public Policy and International Affairs in Budapest, effective September 1, 2011. Reinicke is currently co-founder and Director of the Global Public Policy Institute in Berlin, Nonresident Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., and Managing Director of Galaxar S.A. in Geneva.
	On 12-13 May 2011 the CEU held a Transatlantic Energy Governance Dialogue on the potential for shale gas to transform European energy security. The conference – which was titled Shale Gas: A Game Changer for European Energy Security? – meant to promote transatlantic dialogue on energy security and governance issues. It was organized with support from the Global Public Policy Institute, the Brookings Institution, the European Commission, the Dräger Foundation and the Norwegian Embassy in Budapest.
