CEU's School of Public Policy is pleased to announce that Daniel Large has joined the faculty, becoming the seventh resident professor. Large’s expertise will be crucial in building SPP’s competency in the fields of international relations, including the politics of the global south, global governance and China.

A new study on lessons from European Unions' experiecne with labor mobility authored by Martin Kahanec (DPP) is now published by the World Bank. 

Cristina Corduneanu-Huci, a governance specialist whose research focuses on the political economy of development, politics in non-democracies and government transparency, will join the faculty of CEU's new School of Public Policy this summer.

A Civil Society Forum Task Force, made up of election and civil society experts from Eastern Partnership and EU countries, was launched in Yerevan at the occasion of Armenia’s presidential elections on 18 February. The purpose of the Task Force during its visit to Armenia was to learn more about the observation activities of the Armenian National Platform of the Civil Society Forum, and to assist in the presentation and dissemination of its findings and conclusions.

Farmers who make a living growing opium are not the enemy, according to panelists at the debate entitled “Drugs and Development: Punishing the Poor,” held Feb. 20 as part of the CEU SPP`s debate series co-sponsored by the Open Society Foundations’ Global Drug Policy Program. These farmers are often poor and uneducated, living in isolated rural areas controlled by drug traffickers. They need to be brought into the dialogue about policy, the panel concluded.
