SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

On 15 March, Andreas Goldthau gave a talk on the Politics of Shale Gas at IES in Brussels. His talk, focusing on the cases of Bulgaria and Poland, was part of IES' Policy Forum series bringing together academic and policy experts to discuss salient policy isues. In the Policy Forum, Andreas was joined by Torsten Wöllert of the European Commission's DG Clima and Geert de Cock of Food & Water Europe.

CEU's Center for Media and Communication Studies (CMCS) has joined the School of Public Policy. As part of the School, the Center will strengthen research and collaborations with policy experts and civil society in the areas of media, communication, information, and technology policy.

The two-year Master of Public Administration (MPA) program offered by the School of Public Policy has been successfully registered with the New York State Education Department (NYSED). "US accreditation for SPP's flagship degree is an important step for the school," said Dean Reinicke. "It  acknowledges SPP's mission to offer an innovative curriculum combining knowledge and skills in training future policymakers."

DPP Faculty memeber, Youngmi Kim is going to give a lecture on 'The 2012 parliamentary and presidential elections in South Korea' at the University of Paris Diderot on 13 March.

Andreas Goldthau, DPP faculty and Head of Department, presented a joint paper written with Mike LaBelle of the CEU Business School on the outlook of unconventional natural gas. In his talk titled "Doomed to fail? Assessing the prospects of shale gas in Europe" Andreas argued that it is not geology or NIMBY phenomena that will make the difference in developing european shale gas. Rather, it is technology regimes that will matter most.
