Covid 19-related CEU Senate Decisions, Policies and Communications

Dear All, please look to these documents related to COVID 19 communications and decisions by CEU if need be.
SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

	Andreas Goldthau, faculty member and Head of CEU's Department of Public Policy, published the Wiley Handbook of Global Energy Policy. It is the first handbook to provide a global policy perspective on energy, bringing together a diverse range of international energy issues in one volume. The Handbook
	DPP faculty Marie-Pierre Granger authored a chapter in the book Lawyering Europe: European Law as a Transnational Social Field, edited by A. Vauchez and B. de Witte and published by Hart Publishing. The book offers "a multi-disciplinary reassessment of the role of 'law' and 'lawyers' in the European integration process". Marie-Pierre's chapter examines the influence of the lawyers working for EU governments in the judicial elaboration of EU law.
	Andreas Goldthau, faculty member and Head of CEU's Department of Public Policy, has won a prestigious Marie-Curie IOF fellowship to carry out a two-year research project on energy innovation, with a focus on shale gas technology.
	When an abundant natural resource is discovered within a country's borders it can turn into a long-term economic boon for the many or, if mismanaged, a brief but lucrative jackpot for an unscrupulous few. CEU School of Public Policy (SPP) Visiting Professor Paul Collier and President of the Revenue Watch Institute, Daniel Kaufmann, detailed examples of both at the March 14 lecture “From Resource Curse to Inclusive Growth?
	On March 18, 2013, Sara Svensson successfully defended her PhD thesis on "Social Capital and Governance in European Borderlands - A Comparative Study of Euroregions as Policy Actors" in a well-attended public defense. The committee, chaired by Marie-Pierre Granger (track representative, CEU) and composed of Harlan Koff (external, University of Luxembourg), Tamas Meszerics (internal, CEU), and Andrew Cartwright (supervisor, CEU), awarded Sara a Magna Cum Laude grade for her thesis.
