Covid 19-related CEU Senate Decisions, Policies and Communications

Dear All, please look to these documents related to COVID 19 communications and decisions by CEU if need be.
SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

	A special double-issue of the International Journal of Manpower with Martin Kahanec (DPP) as a guest editor (with Alan Barrett and Klaus F. Zimmermann) has just been published by Emerald. The double issue features two articles co-authored by Martin Kahanec, one on the "Pitfalls of Immigrant Inclusion into the European Welfare State" (with Anna Myung-Hee Kim and Klaus F. Zimmermann) and another one on "Unemployment Benefits and Immigration: Evidence from the EU" (with Corrado Giulietti, Maritn Guzi and Klaus F. Zimmermann).
	Global drug policy must move away from stigmatizing and criminalizing users and focus on the public health issues at stake, panelists concluded at the third drug policy debate hosted by CEU’s School of Public Policy and the Open Society Foundations’ Global Drug Policy Program on April 11. Panelists expressed hope that the current momentum in this direction will result in significant changes at the United Nations drug policy summit slated for 2016.
	Authoritarian structures have crumbled in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Yemen, and civil war rages in Syria due to a crisis of governance affecting regimes both conservative and radical, according to Michael Williams, distinguished visiting fellow at the Royal Institute for International Affairs and a governor of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London.
	The Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels published the report 'Online Personal Data Processing and the EU Data Protection Reform' which is authored by DPP faculty member Kristina Irion together with Giacomo Luchetta. The findings of the report were presented during the well-attended public launch event on April 8th at CEPS premises.
	Anne-Marie Slaughter, former dean of Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School and member of SPP's Advisory Board, was appointed president of the New America Foundation, effective Sept 1, 2013. Read the official press release here.
