SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

Dean of SPP, Wolfgang Reinicke, spoke at the German-Japanese Young Leaders Forum in Tokyo, Japan in September. Organized by the Robert Bosch Stiftung in cooperation with the Japanese-German center Berlin (JDZVB), the Young Leaders Forum aims to inform prospective leaders from Germany and Japan about socially and politically relevant issues and viewpoints. |

On 05 September, Andreas Goldthau presented a paper on shale gas policies in Bulgaria and Poland at the 7th General Conference of the ECPR in Bordeaux. The paper was co-authored by Michale LaBelle of CEU Business School. His talk was part of a panel on "Innovation, technology and regulation. |

On 10 September, Andreas Goldthau presented a paper on "Soft Power with a Hard Edge: EU Policy Tools and Energy Security", jointly authored with Nick Sitter, at Australian National University, Canberra. |

The School of Public Policy at CEU marked the opening of its inaugural academic year with a public roundtable discussion on Public Policy Education and Careers for the Public Good on September 12. In his welcoming address, John Shattuck, President and Rector of Central European University, spoke of how “we don’t to need look any further than the front pages of the newspapers to see the chaos which global public policy is currently in,” but he welcomed the hope which SPP’s new students have brought with them to the beginning of their public policy education. |
