Covid 19-related CEU Senate Decisions, Policies and Communications

Dear All, please look to these documents related to COVID 19 communications and decisions by CEU if need be.
SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

	The Department of Public Policy is happy to announce the successful defense of the PhD dissertation by Andrey Demidov on The Partnership Principle for Structural Funds in the New Member States. Understanding Contestation over the EU Requirements. Abstract:
	Martin Kahanec, Associate Professor at the Department of Public Policy, presented as an invited panelist at IZA/RAND Workshop: Mapping Diasporas in the European Union and the United States jointly organized by IZA, RAND and the European Commission in Brussels on June 3, 2014. Kahanec discussed the importance of mobility in the EU facing multiple demographic and economic deficits. He focused on East-West mobility, highlighting the eocnomic potentials of skilled migration from Eastern Partnership countries.
	DPP faculty Andreas Goldthau debated the prospects of energy sanctions and EU policy options related to the Ukraine crisis at the Center for the National Interest, Washington DC, on 04 June 2014. He was joined on the panel by Ed Chow, Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and Paul Saunders, Executive Director of the Center for the National Interest.
	DPP's Andreas Goldthau presented at a World Bank on the lessons learned from Bulgaria's ban on shale gas, and how to improve governance in the unconventional gas sector in Central Eastern Europe. The presentation drew on a paper jontly authored with Mike Labelle of CEU Business School.
