Covid 19-related CEU Senate Decisions, Policies and Communications

Dear All, please look to these documents related to COVID 19 communications and decisions by CEU if need be.
SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

	During a faculty research seminar at the School of Public Policy (SPP) on November 7th, Visiting Research Fellow Brett Wilson made a number of salient observations on religion and nationalism in Turkey. Wilson, who is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Macalester College, has been conducting research on modernization and religious transformation in the Muslim world with a focus on Turkey and the eastern Mediterranean for many years.
	Vija Pakalkaite, doctoral candidate from the Department of Public Policy and researcher at CEU Energy Policy Research Group (EPRG, energy.ceu.hu) published a commentary on November 03 in Natural Gas Europe about the very first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal of the Baltic States, called “Independence”.
	This semester, some SPP students are benefiting from an invaluable opportunity to learn about the complex relationship between Iran and the West, and to discuss and debate their nuclear dispute with former diplomats from Iran and the United States. They are enrolled in “Iran and the West: Crisis Policymaking in Practice.” The course, led by Visiting Professor Jon Greenwald, a former senior U.S.
	Julia Buxton, Professor of Comparative Politics at the School of Public Policy (SPP), outlined key conclusions from her forthcoming report on the relationship between drugs and development in a stimulating faculty research presentation on Thursday, October 16.
