SPP Students, Faculty, and Staff Team Up to Support School’s Class Gift Campaign

July 21, 2016

More than 60 percent of graduating SPP students made a class gift to celebrate their CEU graduation. They were not the only ones to make donations. So too did 17 SPP faculty and staff members, and even some SPP students who aren't due to graduate until 2017. Director of Career Services and Alumni Relations Ann Gagliardi, who worked closely with students on the campaign, praised SPP students, faculty, and staff for their strong support and enthusiasm for the initiative. "It is heartening to see this level of commitment. It's great to know that so many people are eager to give back to SPP," she said.

Sabrina Ahmed (Mundus MAPP Class of 2017) is one of those students who were eager to give back to SPP. She says that the idea first came to her when she was working late in the SPP computer lab on a particularly cold day during the winter term. "I remember thinking how grateful I was that there was a place like this where I could work, so I did not have to study at home by myself – something I don't like to do. I thought then that some day I want to do something to show how much I love SPP. When the opportunity came to support the Class Gift, I did not want to miss it," says Ahmed.

The more than $600 that was raised during the SPP Campaign will benefit CEU's Alumni Scholarship Fund and be used to support future SPP students. VP for Enrollment, Careers & Alumni Serge Sych applauded the "impressive" results of SPP's 2016 Class Gift campaign. "The success of the campaign will undoubtedly inspire more students, alumni, staff, and faculty from all CEU academic programs to get involved in building a sustainable tradition of philanthropy at CEU," he said.
