CEU Student Union Celebrates Diversity at the Intercultural Festival

At the annual Intercultural Festival on January 24, students from all CEU departments shared their respective cultures through discussion, live performances, and food. This year’s festival was a big success with 39 countries represented, 10 performances, and over 120 dishes served.

SPP students played an active part in the celebration, sharing traditions from India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, the U.S., Venezuela, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, and “Romaland.”

“The slogan of the festival was ‘One World,’” explained Luis Cano (MPA ’15), one of the festival organizers. “We wanted to emphasize the importance of culture, but also the need to transcend national identities.”
