CEU Trustee Matthew Nimetz Supports School of Public Policy with Scholarships

Matthew Nimetz, a trustee of Central European University and an advisory director at General Atlantic, has made a $200,000 five-year commitment to CEU’s School of Public Policy (SPP). Nimetz’s gift will provide scholarship funding for six students from southeastern Europe, enabling them to join the inaugural class of SPP’s two-year Master of Public Administration degree program in September 2013.

The Volkswagen Foundation in cooperation with the Compagnia di San Paolo and the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond awarded a two-and-a-half year grant to a consortium co-led by SPP Dean Wolfgang Reinicke for a project on “Global Norm Evolution and the Responsibility to Protect”.

School of Public Policy and American University in Cairo Hold "Challenges of Transitions" Seminar

The School of Public Policy (SPP) at CEU organized a seminar on the “Challenges of Transitions,” just hours after the initial round of Egypt’s first democratic presidential election. The event, co-hosted by the American University in Cairo (AUC), was held May 26-28 steps away from Cairo's famed Tahrir Square.

Wolfgang Reinicke, founding Dean of the School of Public Policy (SPP), has published an article in the Project Syndicate, an online source of topical commentaries by leading thinkers which are distributed to 488 member newspapers in 152 countries. The article is titled Purpose Beyond Power, which is also SPPIA's motto.
