On April 29, DPP visiting professor Sara Svensson held a lecture on ‘Crossborder cooperation and Euroregions’ to students at the Institute of Public Policy and Economics at Comenius University in Bratislava. The lecture presented the origin and the diffusion of cross-border cooperation between sub-national authorities in a Europe, with a special emphasis on why local governments decide to join Euroregions as vechicles for such cooperation. |

On April 20, the School of Public Policy (SPP), the Department of Public Policy (DPP), and the Political Economy Research Group (PERG) co-hosted a lecture by Professor Mark Hallerberg from the Hertie School of Governance. Discussing the political economy of financial crises, Hallerberg presented research on the importance of the timing of government spending. |

On April 17, the Center for Conflict, Negotiation and Recovery (CCNR), the School of Public Policy (SPP), and the Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS) at Central European University (CEU) hosted a one-day, student-organized international youth conference on the role of youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina's transition 20 years after the signing of the Dayton Agreement. |

The Center for Media, Data and Society (CMDS) is pleased to announce publication of a report on the state of internet freedom in Hungary, as part of a study of the Visegrad countries (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia) led by Transitions and PASOS (Policy Association for an Open Society). The report was produced by Gábor Polyák (Mérték Média Monitor), Kate Coyer (CMDS), and Joost van Beek (CMDS). |

On April 21-22, Central European University (CEU) students participated in the workshop “Budgeting for Human Rights: Why Government Budgets are Important for Realizing Human Rights,” organized by the Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) in collaboration with the School of Public Policy (SPP) at CEU. Participants included Roxana Damian (MPA ’15) from SPP and Edi Sara (MA ’15) from the Department of Public Policy. |
