Covid 19-related CEU Senate Decisions, Policies and Communications

Dear All, please look to these documents related to COVID 19 communications and decisions by CEU if need be.
SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. 	Maxigas, who is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Media, Data and Society (CMDS), presented his work on the social history of Internet Relay Chat on March 10, arguing how looking at its affordances today opens the way for a critique of social media monopolies and contributes to a new perspective in media and communication studies, drawing attention to the contemporary significance of the "old new media."
	The CAPTCHA project was a partnership of three community media organizations (Radio Corax, Germany; the Near Media Co-op, Ireland; Radio FRO, Austria) and the Center for Media, Data and Society. The project, which ran from September 2013 to August 2015, was supported by a grant from the Culture Programme of the European Union and it aimed to empower community media and programme makers to increase the online accessibility of their programmes.
	"Debate is a powerful tool for making change in society," commented Shreya Bhattacharya (MPA '16). Aron Suba (MPA '17) agrees: "Wherever you work after you graduate – in government, in policymaking, at NGOs, or in the private sector – you will need to be able to present arguments in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner. Debating equips you with the skills you need to do that.
	"Some would say that we've never been at peace," said Andrei Gomez-Suarez, associate researcher at the Centre for Criminology (Oxford) and lecturer on transitional justice at the University of Los Andes (Bogota). He made his remarks during a presentation at the School of Public Policy at Central European University on March 10.
	CEU School of Public Policy Visiting Professor Alexis Diamond teaches students to leverage impact evaluation for decisionmaking and project management in his Advanced Impact Evaluation course. "We're giving students the technical and strategic skills they'll need to shape policy," Diamond explained.
