Covid 19-related CEU Senate Decisions, Policies and Communications

Dear All, please look to these documents related to COVID 19 communications and decisions by CEU if need be.
SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

	Reflecting on what has happened in the Arab world since spring 2011, Dr. Mutayyam al O'ran observed, "the expectations of the Arab Spring have crashed on the stones of reality."
	Gregory Asmolov raised some interesting questions during his public lecture at the Center for Media, Data and Society (CMDS) at CEU's School of Public Policy on April 12. The focus of his presentation was the role of information and communications technology (ICT) in modern conflicts.
	"The number of actors, instruments, and institutions that are involved at different levels makes higher education policy implementation within the Bologna Process an interesting topic to explore," said PhD student Simona Torotcoi. She made her remarks during a presentation at the Annual Doctoral Conference at CEU on April 5.
	Katalin Nemeth (MPA '16) has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year. She will pursue a research project at the Penn State College of Education under Professor Kai A. Schafft.
	"The influence of national institutional factors in explaining the differences among immigrant self-employment rates across Europe has been understudied – and underappreciated," argues SPP doctoral student Magda Ulceluse. Ulceluse went on to explain that she is interested in finding out the effect of institutions on immigrant self-employment, noting that "by establishing and guaranteeing rights, enforcing and monitoring compliance to regulations, institutions create a framework within which immigrants make choices about their economic activities."
