In a recent article published in the European Journal of Political Research, SPP Assistant Professor Evelyne Hübscher and University of Geneva Associate Professor Thomas Sattler explore the tension caused by government efforts to “implement unpopular fiscal consolidation packages in order to raise their macroeconomic credibility among financial investors.”

Twenty-seven civil society activists, researchers, and practitioners from 20 countries traveled to Budapest last week to participate in an executive course on the opportunities and challenges to drug policy reform after the April 2016 United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Drugs. The workshop, which was funded by the Open Society Foundations, was organized by the Global Policy Academy at CEU's School of Public Policy.

Since its establishment in 2007, Mundus MAPP has been running as a prestigious and highly competitive Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters course under the European Union's esteemed Erasmus+ Erasmus Mundus Programme, with generous scholarships provided by a grant from the European Commission. The consortium's current funding ends with the graduation of the 2016-2018 cohort. Consequently, Erasmus Mundus scholarships will not be available for students applying to Mundus MAPP for 2017-2019.

Aid recipients, particularly those working through complex political transitions, often struggle to understand the motives and methods of donors, ending up all too often submerged with well-intentioned help that causes more confusion than anything else, according to a new report released on September 5th that was authored by two experts linked to the School of Public Policy and researched by four students from the school.
