Covid 19-related CEU Senate Decisions, Policies and Communications

Dear All, please look to these documents related to COVID 19 communications and decisions by CEU if need be.
SPP is here to support our faculty, staff, students and alumni. OneCEU site has a collection of Rector updates for the community, along with separate communications from the Provost, Dean of Students, on issues such as working from home, guidance to supervisors re work obligations of parents. CEU document repository is where you can find COVID 19 academic decisions, such as grading and extensions, the PhD measures, and cost reimbursement for academics.

	“Working in this field is a dedication,” explained Keith Begg during a presentation at CEU’s School of Public Policy on March 17. Begg, who is Communication and Advocacy Officer for Civil Rights Defenders, spoke about the organization’s work in Sweden and abroad; what motivates their policy and practice priorities; and how they empower, support, and advocate for human rights defenders who are working with local civil society organizations on four continents.
	In a public lecture at CEU’s Center for Media, Data and Society on March 14, Nathalie Maréchal explored why Putin has pursued a particularly aggressive internet policy in recent years.
	The Center for Media, Data and Society at the CEU School of Public Policy launched the Public Media Speakers Series on March 2 with a public lecture by Jawhar Sircar, India's longest serving culture secretary. Sircar also headed two of India’s national public broadcasters, All India Radio and Doordarshan, for nearly five years. The event was organized in cooperation with the CEU South Asia Research Group (SARG).
	As a professional school, SPP has faculty with rich experience in the world of policy practice and activism. Four of the School’s faculty practitioners shared insights from their personal experiences with CEU students during a series of career talks this term. “We spend a lot of time telling our students to think strategically about the future and to plan ahead as they chart their individual career paths,” said Ann Gagliardi, Director, SPP Career and Alumni Programs.
