Corporate Protocol today follows rules and practices of Diplomatic Protocol, said Olaf Jelinski, former chief of Protocol at Airbus. In single sections History of Protocol, basic elements respectively the core-characteristics of Protocol, and Modern Protocol were discussed. He focused in particular on the similarities and differences between Diplomatic Protocol and Corporate Protocol and showed how Corporate Protocol is comparable to Diplomatic Protocol and contains its own elements.

“Do darknet drug markets make the bad guys less bad?” Judith Aldridge, George Soros Visiting Chair at CEU's School of Public Policy examined this question about the morality of illicit drug supply under prohibition, in a talk held at CEU on November 7. She submitted the following summary of her talk:

A recent journal article "How immigrants helped EU labor markets to adjust during the Great Recession" by SPP's Professor Martin Kahanec, published in the International Journal of Manpower, provides convincing evidence that immigrants in the EU respond to labor shortages more flexibly than the natives, and by doing so help Europe to adjust during times of economic turmoil.

Real-time data and research conclusions should be translated and readily available to policymakers, said Nobel Prize-winning economist Robert Engle who joined a panel of CEU economists to discuss evidence-based policymaking. The NYU Stern School of Business Professor's Volatility Lab, or V-Lab, aims to do just this by analyzing market risks daily and providing the results in clear, digestible charts.
