Women’s Participation in Politics
Women’s participation in Hungary’s 2014 parliamentary elections
CEU's School of Public Policy has partnered with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung to deliver a one-day conference that will investigate the lack of women's representation in the Hungarian Parliament and ways of addressing it. The event will bring together European politicians, academic experts, leading party representatives and women candidates who will be running for office in the upcoming elections in Hungary, as well as civil society leaders and media representatives. The conference will serve as a platform to discuss structural and institutional barriers for women's representation, and encourage the development of networks and cross-party co-operation, with the aim of providing participants with working tools and the evidence base for promoting women's political participation.
