How many credits are awarded for the internship?

For one-year MAPP students that conduct an internship in fulfillment of their mandatory practice requirement no academic credit is awarded. The same is true for MPA students who do the recommended internship. Mundus MAPP awards 3 ECTS credits for internships conducted in fulfillment of the mandatory practice requirement.

What if I already have significant experience in my policy field?

In exceptional cases, one-year MAPP students whose prior professional experience (at least three years full-time employment) is relevant to public policy practice and provides a solid basis for their employment after graduation may be granted permission to waive the mandatory practice component of the MA Program in Public Policy. Students wishing to request an exemption from this requirement must submit the Internship Exemption Form.

SPP students are advised to carefully consider their personal financial resources and constraints as they make their internship plans. The School is able to offer limited funding to support student internships (both required and recommended). This funding, however, is intended only as a contribution to help defray out-of-pocket expenses. It is not intended, however, to cover all expenses. Full information and guidelines regarding the SPP internship fund will be provided late in the fall term.
