We recruit students internationally: applicants of all nationalities can apply.

I completed a three-year bachelor's degree. Am I eligible to apply to your programs?

If you have a three-year bachelor’s degree, you are eligible to apply to our two-year programs as long as you have received your bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) before you enroll.

For the one-year MA (MAPP) we normally expect four years of undergraduate studies (although exceptional waivers may be granted by CEU's Provost). If you have a three-year bachelor’s degree we suggest you apply to the MPA or Mundus MAPP.

Does my undergraduate degree need to be in political science or public policy?

Does my undergraduate degree need to be in political science or public policy?

In the MPA program, we expect our incoming students to have a wide variety of academic backgrounds including economics, environmental affairs, foreign languages, biological sciences, sociology, religion, history, business, math, medicine, and engineering.

The MAPP and Mundus MAPP programs are also open to graduates of all disciplines, but degrees in the social sciences will score higher in the admission process. This means that applicants with social science backgrounds have a better chance of being offered a place in the MAPP and Mundus MAPP programs.

Why is prior work experience a preferred qualification?

Why is prior work experience a preferred qualification?

CEU's School of Public Policy, like other professional schools, values prior work experience. Students with previous professional experience from a relevant job, an internship, or a volunteer experience are able to make greater contributions to classroom discussions. This contribution enhances the learning environment for all SPP students.

While prior professional experience is not a prerequisite, it is considered a distinct advantage when evaluating a candidate's application.

I do not have any full-time work experience. Should I still apply?

I do not have any full-time work experience. Should I still apply?

If you do not have full-time work experience, you should still consider applying. Applicants without any work experience may wish to highlight any relevant academic or personal experiences in lieu of work experience i.e. youth/student organizations, volunteer work, NGO activism, internships, research assistantships, etc.
