SPP acting dean Kahanec speaks at the 15th EU Enlargement Anniversary Conference
CEU School of Public Policy's acting dean and professor Martin Kahanec spoke in the panel on Human capital, labour markets, migration and inequality in enlargements at the 15th EU enlargement anniversary conference "2004 EU Enlargement: Looking Back, Looking Forward" organized by the European Commission in Vienna and Bratislava on April 8-9, 2019.
"The free movement of workers is one of the key pillars and greatest achievements of the EU. Analyses of hard data show it benefits the economy, and expands the range of choices for EU citizens. A key challenge is to nurture these benefits and mitigate the populist, anti-system backlash against this freedom of EU citizens," commented Kahanec.
