Report Shows Diversity of Public Policy Internships at SPP

The SPP Office of Career Services recently published a report highlighting key facts about the internships conducted by 64 public policy master’s students in 2015-16. One interesting fact: more than half of these SPP students completed internships outside their country of citizenship. The report also shows the great variety of student internships at SPP. “In 2016, most students chose internships in the non-profit sector, but there are also many others who did internships in large multilateral organizations. In all cases, students are developing valuable skills that will help them in their job searches,” commented Marija Stojanovska Rupcic, coordinator with the Office of Career Services and Alumni Relations.
“Deciding whether to do an internship and finding the ‘right’ one is important to students’ longer-term professional development,” explained Director of SPP Career Services and Alumni Relations Ann Gagliardi. “Marija works directly with students to help them weigh options, conduct research to identify appropriate host institutions, and put together well-crafted and targeted applications. SPP students benefit from excellent internship support.”
