SPP’s Global Policy Academy Joins OSCE Network

October 1, 2015

GPA has joined the OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions, a dynamic and growing group of institutions in OSCE countries that are engaged in academic research and policy analysis on issues related to the OSCE’s security agenda. “What motivated us to seek membership,” explained Global Policy Academy (GPA) Director Bernhard Knoll-Tudor, “is that our expertise on human rights, democracy, and security matters will enable SPP to become an important contributor to the network.”

Established just two years ago, the OSCE Network already boasts a membership of 40 institutions from more than 30 countries. The network organizes meetings and panel discussions, and sponsors research studies. The network’s first study investigated threat perceptions in the OSCE area.

Although GPA is a new member of the OSCE Network, it has worked closely with OSCE on a number of courses in recent years including Field Analysis in Fragile States and Transitions, its annual training for policy advisers from Eastern Partnership countries, and its Academy for National Human Rights Institutions. Knoll-Tudor says that GPA is looking forward to working even more closely with OSCE and with other networked institutions in the months and years ahead.
