OSIRG Call for Applications Now Open

In collaboration with OSF, SPP is pleased to announce the second year of the Open Society Internship for Rights and Governance (OSIRG).
Launched in 2013, OSIRG offers the next generation of public policy leaders first-hand experience in the fields of rights and governance. The program is designed to encourage an enduring commitment to work in these fields.
The 2014 program is open to SPP's MPA students as well as to students earning master's degrees from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Jindal School of Government and Public Policy, Tsinghua School of Public Policy and Management, Oxford Blavatnik School of Government, University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights, Los Andes Alberto Lleras Camargo School of Government, and Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs.
It is hoped that 28 students from the nine participating universities will be awarded internships through the 2014 program. Students will receive clinical training at SPP during a ten-day seminar preceding the internship term. Following the Clinical Seminar, interns will work with host institutions that function at the intersection of public policy, advocacy, and human rights. The internship program is committed to building a dedicated alumni network that will support innovative policy making in the rights and governance fields.
OSIRG selection is highly competitive and based on a candidate’s leadership potential, career trajectory and demonstrated commitment to human rights and governance. Each finalist will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the work of many of the strongest and most ambitious transnational non-governmental organizations such as Amnesty International, Global Witness, and Human Rights Watch, as well as innovative, local organizations such as e-Governance Academy in Estonia and Justice Base in Burma.
Program finalists will be announced in February 2014. To learn more about OSIRG click here.
